At Southern Independent Health, we welcome new patients, whether on an individual or family basis. Our experienced and caring team is dedicated to providing the best possible care for all your GP needs in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and surrounding areas.
We take the time to get to know you. Our experienced GPs and practice nurses offer thoughtful, personal care, with appointments that give you space to discuss your concerns and agree on a plan together. We aim to make it easy to seek help when you need it and to provide continuity with a team you know and trust.
To apply for our HealthPlan membership, you’ll need to complete our new patient application form (click apply below), which will enable us to assess your current and ongoing medical needs.
Application forms are assessed by our medical team on a case-by-case basis. This is to ensure we do not oversubscribe and that we have enough appointments available each week for all our members.
When your application has been assessed, we’ll inform you by letter of the outcome. If you are accepted as a member, we’ll invite you to an introductory consultation with one of the GPs. This consultation is for you to tell us about yourself and should last 20-30 minutes. After that, you can book in your annual health / well person check.
During health assessments such as the annual health check or well person check, measurements such as height, weight, and blood pressure may be taken.
If the clinician determines that further investigations are appropriate, these may include investigations such as blood tests. Any investigations will be discussed with you during your consultation.
Membership includes routine GP and practice nurse appointments, as clinically appropriate. We pride ourselves on being able to offer unhurried and flexible appointments, usually within 48 hours.
Other membership benefits include:
Some elements of screening may involve investigations that are clinically appropriate for your needs. The specific investigations recommended will depend on individual circumstances and will be discussed as part of your screening assessment.
We also have an in-house pharmacy where most medication costs less than the standard NHS prescription cost.
Please fill in the form below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
If at any time you would like to withdraw consent for receiving marketing communications from us, you can do so by emailing or telephoning the practice, or telling us in person at the practice. We will only use this information for communicating with you about your health and any of our services that we feel may be of interest to you.
